Donations and proceeds support critical cancer treatment programs & services at Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care

The goal of the Coumadin Clinic is to provide anticoagulated patients with timely accurate data that allows for accurate and timely PT/INR (prothrombin ratio/ international normalized ratio) results and decreased bleeding complications.  The Coumadin Clinic runs three days per week by appointment.  This service is provided to patients taking Coumadin to regulate their medication.  During the appointment a blood sample is obtained by using a Coaguchek System.  The results are immediate and this enables the nursing personnel to change the medication dosage as necessary according to the approved algorithm.  In addition the patient has a blood pressure and heart rate check and is educated on diet, interactive medications, safety, how to take their medications and side effects.
